IP Telephones

Meet from anywhere

Gathering your team together for a meeting is time-consuming and not always practical. Thankfully, the right video conferencing can let you meet from anywhere, saving your time and money.

A video conference is a live, visual connection between two or more people residing in separate locations for the purpose of communication. At its simplest, video conferencing provides transmission of static images and text between two locations. At its most sophisticated, it provides transmission of full-motion video images and high-quality audio between multiple locations.

How do IP phone systems work?

The “IP” in IP phone system refers to Voice over IP, or having your phone calls routed over the internet or your local network (LAN). This is great for many reasons. First of all, you don’t have to use the telephone network of your telephony service provider for making calls, which will reduce your costs for phone calls. At the same time you are gaining many technical advantages by using IP technology for your telephony.

Users of a VoIP phone system simply plug their IP phone into the nearest LAN port. Then, the IP phone registers automatically at the VoIP phone system. The IP phone always keeps its number, and behaves exactly the same way, no matter where you plug it in – on your desk, in the office next door or on a tropical island.

Comparison with other IP phone systems

FASTPBX is superior to the majority of traditional phone systems. In the following overview we have brought together the most important differences.

• License fees

Most traditional phone systems require one license per user. That means, if your business grows, you need a new phone and an additional license for every new user.

• Number of parallel calls

Most phone system manufacturers limit the possible number of parallel calls to sell more licenses.

• Supported phones

FAST phone systems support over 90% of IP phone handsets sold worldwide and can automatically configure IP phones from Snom, Yealink, Tiptel, Alcatel, Gigaset and Polycom. Most other phone system manufacturers only support their own phones.

• Scalability

Don’t limit your growth by your phone system.

• Easy configuration

Most traditional phone systems require certified service technicians for configuration, administration and extension. FAST can be set up and configured by anybody with basic computer knowledge.

• Integration with other business apps

FAST provides a variety of open interfaces which allow easy integration with other business applications like CRMs or databases.

• Hardware

FAST is hardware and vendor independent – it supports energy saving embedded hardware, standard PC hardware or can be installed on your existing server. This leads to enormous savings.
